Take a break. You don’t have to be one all the time. -

Im not getting on board with 3 Brisbane teams. Too many other important places to launch first. What ever did happen to SL’s vision for Asia? -

London Skolars - What is to be done?
Sports Prophet replied to Quinskolar's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
@Quinskolar I think you are dreaming too far ahead. London cannot sustain two SL clubs for a very long time. Skolars fill a purpose for the performance pathway for southern juniors. The club should be satisfied with fulfilling that purpose to the best of its ability. At least until the Broncos collapse, which I don’t think happens. I don’t particularly like the Skolars brand either. I don’t think a misspelled, never adopted, higher education link is relevant. If there ever is an ambition to crack the market and media and pull crowds of over a thousand locals, then Skolars ain’t it. I was interested to hear your point on being given the keys to the stadium. Is that really on the cards. I remember hearing this rumour in the mid noughties. -
broncos to extend kevvys contract
Sports Prophet replied to Anita Bath's topic in The Australian Rugby League Forum
Yeah, what kind of deal is that. Why resign him right now when there are no other clubs looking to snatch him? -
I just take the phrase “fighting over the scraps” to be defeatist. I prefer to consider phrases like “increasing their share”. It may sound like semantics but I think it’s real. Whilst the contracts for the SL may sound like scraps to the PL, to SL, it is what they are worth. Any sport, like any business, has the ability to influence a fair commercial outcome based on the supply and demand of their product.

The sports earn from broadcast partners what they deserve. Rolling over and blaming the PL and CL for a lower broadcast package isn’t going to improve it. The governors must improve the product, increase public demand and broaden broadcast competition, then revenue will improve. In saying that @gingerjon does put it well. The season has started fabulously. I have never been so entertained at the start of a SL season. SL is starting its second C4 broadcast deal. So there are positive decisions and wins taking place.

Showing what Rugby League has to offer
Sports Prophet replied to Martyn Sadler's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Unfair comment on the sticking around. In no way would any of the attendees outside of the suites been anything but standing cold and miserable in clothes weighing an extra 10 kilos. When the whistle went, it was time to leave. -
Showing what Rugby League has to offer
Sports Prophet replied to Martyn Sadler's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Martyn your remarks at the attendance is seriously overlooking the horrendous weather conditions that blighted the match resulting in an hour late start and half time extended by ten minutes. It was definitely not spectator friendly, let alone family friendly. Now, had you suggested the match should have been played at Parra Stadium where there is a remarkable difference in weather protection, then you would have an argument. Not necessarily a winning one, but definitely a point deserving of consideration. It would be great to learn more about the financial commitment and agreement for the WCC. Maybe you can do some digging and report back to us? -
Are Saints in the News?

Dare I say it, the Sharks have so much similarity where they need to aim and pitch themselves similar to the Cats. -

I am surprised that you hadn’t learned vicariously at least, where any acknowledgement to another code, especially AFL, on a RL forum will only lead to derision from the unstable.
