  1. I headed down Beverley Town Reserves v Hull United in the Humber Premier League and enjoyed a 2-1 win for Bev, with about 30 other fans.
  2. If you want another similar YouTube channel, TFC Stadiums is good. They use computer generated graphics to recreate stadiums, quite often doing videos on old, demolished grounds or grounds under construction, using the graphics to show what they looked like or will look like. That channel does tend to be very football-heavy though.
  3. I follow a YouTube channel called, The Wide World of Stadiums which does videos of compilations of stadiums from different sports leagues around the world. Today they've uploaded a video on League 1's grounds so thought I'd share here.
  4. I've just watched the film Yesterday about a guy who is in an accident and wakes up in a world where The Beatles don't exist. Really enjoyed it!
  5. Absolutely, there's a little kid in all of us! I mean, don't know about you Futtocks but I still sit at the front of the bus, upstairs, pretending to drive!
  6. I quite agree, I watched about half an hour of one episode while I was waiting for something else to come on and was ready to slit my wrists by the end. I watch just about all the quiz shows and I can say with some confidence that this is the worst one I've seen for a long time, if not ever. Stephen Fry is completely wrong for this kind of show.
  7. On this day in 1949, Australia beat France 29-10 at the Stade Velodrome, Marseilles in front of 15,796 fans, a test played as part of the 1948-49 Kangaroo Tour.
  8. I'd never heard of him. I just had a quick read through his life and quite frankly he sounds like a nutter that people just felt sorry for and indulged! Has his life story been made into a film? Certainly sounds like the basis for one.
  9. I couldn't tell you what the ads are for because I ignore them. I am in that age range but don't use Google as much as some. I have an android phone but use opera as my Web browser and barely ever use my Gmail. I am subscribed to a couple of big history channels with 2million and 1 million subscribers, and also Stephen Hendry's channel which has about 250,000 subscribers but in contrast I also subscribe to a non-league football club with 131 subscribers and a couple of much smaller history channels. So really a mix of both.
  10. On this day in 1968, France played Australia in Toulouse, in front of 5,000 fans. It was the last game of the 1967-68 Aussie Tour of Great Britain and France. Aus and France played each other 3 times with the French winning two and drawing one, with this game finishing 16-13. I don't think we'll see results like that ever again!
  11. Another great afternoon down Beverley Town. Ran out 3-0 winners but had to wait until the 81st minute to see the first goal! I took a mate down who has only ever been to a couple of football matches in his life and never to non-league football. He loved it, thought it was a fantastic afternoon and said he'll definitely be up for going again so thats another convert to 10th division football right there! The more the merrier!
  12. The number 8 went to see a therapist. When asked to lie down on the sofa the number 8 replied, "i can't or I'll be here forever".
  13. On this day in 1938, France played Australia at the Stade Buffalo in Paris in front of 11,500 fans. Australia would run out comfortable winners with a score of 6-35.
  14. On this day in 1981, one of the biggest operations in British policing history comes to an end when police arrest "the Yorkshire Ripper", Peter Sutcliffe, in Sheffield.
  15. I love history and a friend of mine who is an archaeologist invited me to attend a dig going on in the local area. During the dig I found the leg bone of a Roman soldier. The whole experience was a real shindig!
  16. On this day in 1912, the 3rd and final test of the 1911-12 Ashes series was played at Villa Park in front of approximately 4,000 fans. GB led 8-0 early on but were reduced to 12 men after suffering an injury to Dick Ramsdale. Australia would go on to run in 9 tries and take the victory 8-33, and claim the Ashes. This would be the last Ashes series won by Aus on British soil until 1964.
  17. On this day in 1801, the Kingdom of Great Britain is united with the Kingdom of Ireland to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
  18. I can't believe this has caused such a discussion. Who'd have thought there were so many maths enthusiasts on here!
  19. I never actually saw Batman Begins. A great actor, won a BAFTA, won a golden globe, was even nominated for two Oscars!
  20. Quite right, people buy merchandise because they want to and it makes them happy. I love representing my club by wearing a hat or a shirt or something when I'm out and about. It puts a smile on my face and makes me feel proud of my club. I also support a non-league football team and again, I love walking through town to games sporting a bobble hat with the teams name and badge on it. I wanted to spend £15 on that hat for a 10th tier football team because I felt I was helping the club by giving them a bit of money.
  21. Yesterday was the first Beverley Town home game for almost 2 months with there being so many postponements and we ran out 3-1 winners against Clay Cross. Could easily have been 7 or 8 if it wasn't for some pretty poor communication around the box. 290 fans in attendance to celebrate the homecoming and as a result of so many postponements, we've got a heck of a lot of home games coming up in the next couple of months, including one week with 3 home games in a row!
  22. Just seen this. Star of two of my favourite films ever, The Fully Monty and Rush Hour.
  23. I am rubbish at maths. In your equations you've posted here, can you replace the letters with numbers so I can see how these equations would actually work, please? I've tried doing that myself and I'm just getting confused.
