When you say early promise I assume you mean the initial crowd numbers? I said at the start of the year that by 6 winless home games in we will be way under 1000 home fans a game again....probably nearer 500 I know I won't be going again this year....rather watch Skolars in the Southern league and see a relatively competitive game. Plus I'll pick some choice northern games to go see The only close-ish games we can even think of envisaging would be if teams do a 'Saints' and send down a youth squad because they fancy a bye and don't need the points Again....anyone who sees any of this as any kind of surprise is deluded or at the very best was badly informed

Let's hope so My kids will sit and watch it as long as they have a burger and 10 minutes each half on their phone It helps we have a reward system....if their team wins they get a treat from the shop after...if not then there is fresh tap water readily available that they can have as much of as they want (within reason) -

Completely this .... I'd even say football has taken a hit in this too...along with boxing, darts and snooker Losing the commonality if everyone reading the same papers and watching the same channels has caused this We can look back on those days nostalgically but the lack of choice was pretty rubbish too .....e.g. I used to really look forward to Spitting image Sunday nights but after that there was never anything else on so I had to watch the South Bank Show....can't see those two audience demographics overlapping much these.days with so much more choice -

Agreed....darts, snooker and boxing are completely different beasts to a team sport -

Am I right in thinking that now it's either Tri-Nations with Wales / France or we go down under each season ? -
Ha....it's so good you are here referencing the 1940s George!...extraordinary we have that era in living memory. My wife's grandad is 100 in September (hopefully!) and he even makes you young! I wish schools still did CC final excursions....can't say I've noticed many school trips at them over the years (and I've been to many of them over my 40 something years)

Not many lower income fans will make a Tolouse/Cats game....if they do they need some financial advice Internationals I am happy to concede are now worthless after all 3 games were badly turned out and up north (having seen the dismal turnout at 2 Tonga games in person I just think what is the point) The CC cup is the only big game fixed in the calendar for the south ....it's vital we keep it....move it to Spurs maybe but we keep it down here Magic I'm 50-50 as I enjoy it but would rather ditch that than the CC

Disagree It was poorly attended last night due to the exact same teams playing the same fixture the week before....and the fact CC fixtures are not released long in advance Wembley has not had two big British teams in the final for a while A cynic might suggest Catalan being in the final in 2018 was a catalyst for lowering the bar for crowd number and atmosphere ...it was dismal though I enjoyed the result (I was there as a neutral and wouldn't go again if it ends up being like that so plenty of other casuals may have been put off recent years) It's recovering now ...I was there last year for the nearly 60,000 crowd and it was fantastic (that would be two thirds full not half) I'd confidently predict if the final this year involves two from Saints, Wigan, Wire, FC( ha ha obvs but you never know), KR....then it will be mid 60s plus
