  1. There shouldn’t be any games on Thursdays
  2. If the tackler falls back in the tackle, as it were .. the likelihood of a head collision drops to a single digit [8%]. If the tackler is upright and leading into the tackle with the chest & head, the chance of a head collision / high tackle becomes far higher. so, the question is, is the game better with head shots, flailing arms, neck wrap rounds, accidental punches to the face & head … does this encourage attacking &/counter attacking rugby ? Do players feel confident that they are not going to get whacked all the time ? funny, as I type, Burgess has just had his head taken off .. denied a certain try .. wacked around the head .. no action .. the defender will do that every time .. looks rubbish .. puts parent off letting their kids playing …
  3. Meanwhile, the crowd sounds are so much more atmospheric
  4. With the volume off - miss the buzz of the crowd why not turn off the ref ??
  5. One of the joys of watching t’League live is the crowd. The rise and fall of noise as the game unfolds. On Tv .. Both Sky & BBC, the production always involves wiring the referee up, giving full voice to a high pitched squeal. “Move, hold it, hoove, inside, away, mooove, stay, haaaave, hold, two .. etc etc” .. it is more like sheep dog trials than league. so far removed than the live experience why do they do it that way ? or is it just me ?
  6. Union - travelling teams play off-season/window .. and play 3 games over 4 weeks
  7. But if the aim to to raise the profile of the French game … internationals are the way forward .. proper, meaningful etc afterall … don’t forget why there is XI3 in France
  8. Kind of .. But Neither Is assured of financial solvency if anything, it’s pretty obvious that they would both struggle thats what the history of the game shouts loud and clear if the suggestion is to divert SL funds … well, that is just diluting the existing set-up .. and ultimately, there is a single question .. why financially support 2 random teams, but let one in Englands 2nd biggest city go bust (answer .. it cannot happen) if the aim is to increase French (&Welsh) player pool …. Allow 18 top tier teams to include 2 players in their squads .. salary cap free … ie, remove the incentive to have random Aussie and Pacific players on the squad
  9. Yes, that is a taken. However, just like Aussie helping the English game So, we should be helping the French game While European Super League should be helping Wales & the rest
  10. Yes exactly League winners v CC, play-off in the Grand Final ie .. best week in week out team v best knock out team
  11. Again. Who is saying 18 games. 26 games across the whole league season … Plus the CC And the Grand Final. **On face value you may not like the “extra” 8 fixtures .. But you don’t like loop fixtures (3 games), the reverse fixtures again the league strugglers are average (4 games) and there’s always a random Thursday/play-off game that is poor === These are the current 8 fixtures..which you don’t currently like. But because they are what you/the game has always done .. they are accepted.
  12. Have “we” really been doing this for 15 years ? Leigh, Eccles, Avignon, Salford City, Doncaster, Gateshead on random dates … 17 different venues, no set date … no continuity. Meanwhile, being critically reflective … are the England results against France that much more embarrassing than the England results against Australia ? If we accept that a good French team is emerging, a regular game might create an annual testing focal point. An annual event. Something to market. Something for the press to get behind. Create stories. Develop history. Fans making the pilgrimage. How about allowing each SL club to include 1 or 2 non-salary cap French qualified player/s in squads, to encourage player pool allow
  13. No. Just one game a season. One year in England .. the next in France
  14. One is a 10 team division .. play H&M .. 18 games Plus .. play one game against the 8 team division .. 18 + 8 =26 games … Each team plays 13 home games
