  1. The solution is 2 full time tens with P&R but it needs £40m tv deal to make it work 10 x £2.5m and 10x £1m with £5m to the game Clubs existing or new must find their level based on income ie No matter how fondly we may feel of Batley etc their crowds and income would not support FT ambitious RL
  2. The deal is being driven by the Cousins from over the pond imo who will be coming into RL big time soon the days of cushy jobs for under achievers will be long gone soon, colouring in degrees from polys will not count anymore
  3. Wait til the Cousins from across the pond become public
  4. Toulouse will pip them on the scoring and then it’s Cas or Wakey for the last spot
  5. If they had every club opening hives and producing honey for a great return I wouldn’t object - we need cash and if SL+ and ‘templates’ does that then brilliant as it gives the return we should expect. Or is this just fancy ###### that looks good on some woke uni colouring in degree but in reality doesn’t generate cash.
  6. My belief was that IMG were a results based partner with a relatively big carrot to aim for, backing their abilities to reach it. £500k is not a huge amount to many but ours is a small, under achieving pot that is getting smaller - hence the big opportunity. As a fag packet £500k would get you a leader and 4 FT execs of good quality - we do not seem to get either the control or results from IMG so at present the investment is not producing. Its too early to pull the plug but I hope some serious questions are being answered where it matters
  7. Condon is the Amone/O'Donnell signing - young with potential that has not really had the opportunity. Looked very good as covid broke. Wont be big money also
  8. We (Leigh) are signing really well imo - very happy and can’t wait for the SL incomings
  9. We’re goosed if Davis is our 13. Great back up but nothing more
  10. You don’t get a player if his quality in his peak years. Leigh have a young squad next season and need some experienced leaders to replace Hardaker Leutele Moylan Asiata Holmes Briscoe etc in the squad Pene Conlon Armstrong Nui? All have the best years ahead of them
  11. Hull is an hour and half away. Get a car full and nominate a driver it’s far cheaper
  12. BTW a disappointing ending to a great end of season run. Never thought we would win and won a few quid taking Wigan at -12 . We lack pace out wide and with no second rows it was never on unless Wigan had a mare. I understand we have recruited well and have some blistering pace in 2025
  13. That’s incorrect - without the input from Derek ( and others to a smaller degree) we wouldn’t have had a club to reach a GF v Fev
  14. One of the challenges of being a RL town outside SL is that kids want to be like the players on TV. Leigh got plucked by Saints Wigan and Wire for many years - what has been achieved in just a few years is incredible, never seen as many kids in Leopard tops. If you look at our crowds we attract a lot of families often multi generations, these days as it’s a proper day out
  15. No Leigh numbers in that, so it’s 20k sold
  16. Leigh announce that going into general sale 350 tickets remain for the North stand.
  17. Leigh have signed some half back from Penrith whose bird plays soccer for a Manchester club due to Moylan retiring
  18. Already a play off record when Leigh’s numbers are added with 4K plus and open sale only starts at 5 today
  19. The Salford v Leigh number is huge if only on pay tv?
  20. It would have to be 60% full to hit 12k and it looks that way, Leigh go on open sale tonight but I understand are well on the way to filling the stand and will then be allocated sections of the East?
  21. If Wigan have sold 10k and Leigh’s only go on sale Monday the 17k will be smashed
  22. Looking at Sale the figures SP has used as the highest gate is over the stadium legal capacity, yet Sale declare that gate at 2000 less. We need the RFU calculator!
  23. It did include those fixtures but didn’t impact on the huge losses they made. I wonder how they will go on repaying the Covid loans or if the RFU will pay the tax owed by the 3 failed clubs, £50m wasn’t it - club RU is not healthy
  24. 2 tough games have left the squad battered and short of forwards. Had a good bet on Salford to soften the pain
