2023 Summer Bash is going to be...

TBF Cas, Leeds, Pontefract, Wakefield and Xscape are all within 30mins travel by public transport -
Until they stopped coming we regularly had 20+ goldfinches queuing up for their turn on ours and next door's feeders - hopefully they're back and will be bringing their young soon. Not seen a greenfinch in the garden for about 5 years and it's just dawned on me that I've not seen our regular coal or occasional blue t it visitors for a while now. Still plenty of house sparrows and pigeons though! Chaffinches have always been a rare sighting since we moved in.

It is the stadium - looks like the EA made an objection back in April and aren't happy with the response - well actually both, as they have also reiterated their objection to the Industrial Park. -

Why do you think hiring the LNER stadium would cost 'next to nothing'? -

A Russian soldier ran up to a nun walking down a sidewalk in Petrograd. Out of breath he asked, “Please, may I hide under your skirt? I'll explain later.” The nun agreed. A moment later two politsya ran up and asked: “Sister, have you seen a soldier?” The nun replied, “He went that way.” After the politsya ran off the soldier crawled out from under her skirt and said, “I can't thank you enough, Sister. You see, I don't want to go to Ukraine.” The nun said, “I understand completely.” The soldier added, “I hope I'm not rude, but you have a great pair of legs!” The nun replied, “If you had looked a little higher, you would've seen a great pair of balls, too. I don't want to go to Ukraine either." -
Looks like I have a Robin nesting in one of my sheds at the allotment - came out from under the bench to see who was visiting when I walked in today. Not one I (have to) go in very often so it should be able to get on with things pretty much undisturbed, by me at least. A much more welcome tenant than the rats who've lived in there in the past!

When first announced it was quoted at the launch that the Bash would provide the fans with 'a day out at the seaside'. (Un)fortunately we've moved on from the 1950s and 60s when there were far fewer car owners and the local Working Men's Club's day trip to the coast was a highlight of the year....... Time to kick it in to touch.

Why Is It Called “Summer Bash”?
Les Tonks Sidestep replied to Sports Prophet's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Because it's played in the spring and is a 'b(ag) a sh.....'? -
You honestly think they wouldn't have moved if enough money had been available? The thing about grants is that you usually need to provide some finance yourselves as Gubby states. Cas have been talking about moving from WR since the mid 70s and every 'plan' has so far failed because of lack of money, particularly the Club's.
-
Pray tell how they would have funded that move?

Their loan is over 15 years at 2.5% interest. Repayments are around £21k/month and they have been repaying since they received the money a few years ago.
