  • Prop forward also reflects on the 2020 season.
  • Singleton: “I feel we have great foundations to enjoy this next year. We’re looking forward to it.”

After joining the Club earlier than expected last year, Brad Singleton feels he has laid the platform to kick on in 2021.

The opportunity presented itself in September for Singleton to join the Club with immediate effect and he certainly made an immediate impact on Adrian Lam’s side.

Becoming a fan favourite, the prop forward played six games for the Warriors – helping the team to the 2020 Super League Leaders’ Shield and the Grand Final.

Singleton said: “I’m really happy with coming in early. The contract was due to start coming into pre-season but I’m glad that I got a chance to play and wear the badge earlier than expected.

“Me and my family are really happy here – both of my kids are in school. Everyone is really nice and welcoming. I feel we have great foundations to enjoy this next year. We’re looking forward to it.

“I’m ready to tick over again now. I’ve been in at Robin Park a few times before Christmas. I’m creating the platform for the year coming up. If you look at the side – it’s a really close-knit group. To top the success of last year is to win more silverware in 2021 and hopefully we can do that.”

On reflection of 2020, the 28-year-old Cumbrian admits he played in games that will stay with him throughout the rest of his career and his life.

“I absolutely loved the last two months of the season. There were some incredible games that I will remember forever – the first derby against St Helens was a memorable one. I didn’t realise how intense the battle with them is.

“Even the Grand Final – it hurts to be so close to a Super League ring and to lose in that manner, but just the spectacle of how intense that game was – it was great and it will live with me forever.”
