He came with a big reputation but was at the end of his career during the two season he played for us 81/82  and 82/83.  He did a lot of the dirty and unseen work that was in the game back then but he did sometimes look comically slow when compared to the up and coming players from Gartland's famous colts side  that were coming through at the time. 

Then again nearly all the forwards of the time  looked slow when compared to the young rampaging back row of  Goodway and Worrall and  I'm sure he helped develop them into the world class talents they became....... thanks B Hogan and RIP.
