Good morning - my Twitter let me know that Falcons were at home to Brotherton Bulldogs.

Hope that some of you locals will be in attendance…. Keep warm!

Among my very earliest attendances on those fields: when Derrick Schofield brought some of his players for practise.  He always found time to look at our young lads’ ‘tig and pass’ efforts and to offer advice.  Later on a few played for Mayfield.  My school pal, was Hornets’ the late Peter Birchall who served under Johnny Noon.
