Bradford Bulls half-back Lee Gaskell has described Sunday’s grudge match with fellow relegation strugglers Salford Red Devils as “must win” and claims their trans-Pennine rivals are under more pressure to get the two points.
The 23-year-old, who spent time on loan with Salford last year from parent club St Helens, told the Manchester Evening News: “I think Salford are under a lot more pressure than us with the money that Dr Koukash has spent.
“He’s expecting his players to deliver week in and week out but I think we can go there and win.
“It would be massive to beat Salford because they’re one of the teams around us and it would drag them right into it. And we’re capable of beating any team on our day.
“It is certainly must-win, there’s no doubt about that. We want to be coming off the pitch on Sunday with the two points.
“I’m quite surprised they [Salford] have struggled so much but when you bring in so many players it takes time to gel. There are different personalities and it’s about whether they get on with each other on and off the pitch.
“However, I think they’ve got world-class players and it’s only a matter of time before they do.”
