Ahead of England’s must-win game against Australia on Sunday, it is understood Wayne Bennett is considering making a major change to his 19-man squad for the game – which will be named later today.
So far, Bennett has used three different half-back pairings for his games in charge so far, and it seems a fourth could be set to materialise: with Widnes captain Kevin Brown in consideration for a shock recall to the national side.
Brown did impress during his only appearance this autumn, England’s victory in Avignon against France, and TotalRL understands that Bennett is now seriously considering drafting him into the squad for the game against the Kangaroos in London on Sunday afternoon.
England must win that game to stand any chance of making the final – and if the Kiwis win by more than 30 tonight (Friday), they will face the daunting task of having to beat the world champions by a certain scoreline in order to secure qualification to the Four Nations final at Anfield.
England will name their squad later this afternoon.
