Talk of Gareth Hock making the switch to Kingstone Press Championship side Leigh Centurions has been in the air ever since he was released by Salford Red Devils earlier this week – and his former employer seems to have let the secret slip that a deal has been done.
Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash took to Twitter in recent days to inform the world that Hock and Salford had parted company – and he seemed to tweet talk that a deal to take Hock to Leigh had been confirmed.
Koukash tweeted on Wednesday: “Would like to wish @gazhock12 all the very best at @LeighCenturions.”
However, he followed that up with a second tweet after being informed no deal had been announced by the club, saying: “I apologise to @LeighCenturions. I thought the Hock signing had already been announced.”
Hock’s signature is expected to be announced by the Centurions at a 4pm press conference at Leigh Sports Village today.
