Bradford coach John Kear has spoken of his delight after his side fought off Dewsbury Rams at Odsal.
The Bulls ran out 20-12 victors, which included a brace of tries for Dalton Grant in the first half, and Kear believes Bradford are learning how to win in the Championship.
“We’re just learning how to win in this division,” said Kear.
“There are different types of games and that game demanded patience, work rate and the ability to grind.
“Dewsbury are a good, arm-wrestle type of team. They complete high, play field position rugby and attempt to wear you down.”
Kear fielded two out-and-out halfbacks for the first time since round two and was impressed with how they took advice on board during the game.
“You wouldn’t have thought one half-back is 18 and the other is 22,” continued Kear.
“They take on board what you’re trying to achieve and work hard to do that.
“Gaz Carvell just tipped Rowan up at half-time to take the line on a bit more and he goes straight through and scores the first time he does it. He took that advice on board and came up trumps.”
