Keighley to push on for EGM after gaining support

Keighley Cougars have announced they have gained the required support to push on for an Extraordinary General Meeting at the RFL, and they have now submitted their request to Red Hall for the meeting to take place.

Cougars chairman Gary Fawcett announced earlier this week that they were close to securing the required support for the meeting, and that he was planning to consult with other clubs to get the meeting pushed through.

It now seems like that has been successfully achieved, and the Cougars will push on in their bid for compensation after their controversial relegation from the Championship at the end of last season.

The announcement was made over social media, with the Cougars’ official Twitter account saying:

“We have received enough support for the EGM so Gary sent the request in to the RFL 10 minutes ago.”
