St Helens are reportedly weighing up a move for Sydney Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall, according to suggestions in Australian media.
The 27-year-old, who has a superb strike rate in the NRL with the Roosters, is out of contract at the end of this season, sparking talk of a move away from Sydney.
A move to Super League would be regarded as a major transfer coup for the Saints, and the St Helens Reporter said that a Saints spokesman “declined to comment” when asked about the rumour.
Kenny-Dowall has 96 tries in 180 NRL games, and would provide experience and attacking flair in a Saints backline that already contains plenty of talent.
League Express reported recently how Saints chief executive Mike Rush took a trip to Australia on a scouting mission – but is Kenny-Dowall on his radar?
