Luke Gale WILL play against Wigan in the Challenge Cup quarter-final after all, it has emerged.
The current Albert Goldthorpe Medal holder was a notable absentee from Castleford’s 19-man squad to take on the Warriors tomorrow having also missed last weekend’s defeat to Hull FC.

However, in an apparent u-turn, the Tigers confirmed that Gale, who turned 28 earlier this week, would undergo another fitness test in an attempt to get him on the field when Cas travel to Wigan on Saturday.

Ultimately, Gale passed the fitness test, meaning he is available for selection.
Gale’s presence is a huge boost to the Tigers, who had a makeshift duo of Grant Millington and Paul McShane in the halves to face Hull FC last week.
He places Tom Holmes in the 19-man squad.
