Leeds Rhinos prop Jamie Peacock says it would be “incredible” to win the Man of Steel award for a second time, but is not setting his sights on individual glory.
The former Great Britain star is considered to be among the frontrunners for the newly-named Steve Prescott Man of Steel award in 2014, potentially becoming only the fourth man to win the award on more than one occasion.
“As everyone will say, you don’t set out at the start of your career for individual awards. But if I’m nominated for the award again I’ll be absolutely delighted – and if I went on to win it then it would be incredible,” Peacock told this week’s League Express.
“To win it for a second time would be really special, especially given how it’s so long since I won it before. I was playing in a different position back then.
“I’m just trying to keep playing well, and if my name is on the board for the Man of Steel award then it will be a great honour.”
