Moimoi uncertain about Leigh future

Fuifui Moimoi has confirmed that he could play for another Super League club next season.

The renowned Tongan is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to agree a deal with the Centurions ahead of their Super League return.

Moimoi, 36, has been at Leigh for two years but has been linked with a move away from the club recently, with reports emerging that Toulouse are interested in signing the New Zealand international.

Speaking to TotalRL, Moimoi confirmed that he will pursue a Super League contract elsewhere if his time at Leigh comes to an end.

“I haven’t (been offered a deal by Leigh) yet. We’ve been talking and stuff but obviously nothing has come of it yet. Fingers crossed they want to keep me next year, but if not I’m proud to have got Leigh to Super League.

“I’ll wait to see what happens. If it’s not going to happen for me next year, hopefully I’ll find another club and continue my journey. Hopefully, I’ll be lucky enough to get picked by another club and finish my career in Super League.”

Should Moimoi leave LSV, he admitted that he will be satisfied with his contribution to the club.

“I’m so proud and honoured to be part of this squad. To play last year and this year, and make it to Super League, I’m just proud.

“When I signed for Leigh I came to help build the culture and get the club up to Super League, obviously we’ve done it this year and the club will crack on again next year.”
