Castleford Tigers star Junior Moors could be set to miss the beginning of Super League XX, after picking up a hamstring injury in training.
The Samoan international will definitely miss Castleford’s remaining pre-season games before the start of the season early next month, with the opening game against Wakefield also potentially coming too soon for Moors’ fitness race.
“Junior Moors pulled his hamstring on Saturday, which is disappointing after I thought he’d had his best training week of his time at the club,” Tigers coach Daryl Powell explained.
“He was really starting to look outstanding in terms of what he was doing in the back row. He’s going to be three or four weeks and it’s really disappointing for him because he was really getting in the groove of the way we operate.
“I look forward to seeing him play when he’s back and hopefully it won’t be too long.
“He could miss the opening game against Wakefield, but I don’t know yet. It’s one of those injuries that we’ll have to see how he heals over the next two weeks in particular.”
