Nathan Brown tipped among frontrunners for Newcastle job

He left St Helens at the end of last season to return to the NRL – and Nathan Brown is being linked with the vacant coaching role at Newcastle Knights according to reports in Australia.

Brown is tipped to be among the frontrunners to replace outgoing coach Rick Stone who left earlier in the week, and the Knight said the process would begin immediately to find a replacement with former Dragons coach Nathan Brown considered a frontrunner.

“We’ve only just made a decision on Rick,” board member John Quayle said.

“There have been absolutely no discussions around who might take over but we will put a process in place and get the best person for the job.”

Brown guided St Helens to Grand Final glory last year after successful stints in Super League with both the Saints and Huddersfield Giants.
