HUNSLET Club Parkside will meet Rochdale Mayfield in the 2016 Conference Trophy Final.
Parkside accounted for Milford Marlins 21-6 in last night’s semi-final, while Mayfield prevailed at Featherstone Lions at the weekend.
Milford opened the scoring at Hunslet with a try on 15 minutes for Eddie Wilson which Martin Loveridge improved. The hosts, though, levelled immediately through Jamie Fields, who converted his own effort.
Dale Harris added another try before the break, with Andy Hullock and Luke O’Malley landing a goal apiece for a 16-6 interval lead, and the hosts took a real grip when Kieran Murphy nipped over 11 minutes into the second period.
Fields wrapped matters up for Hunslet with a field goal as the game entered the final quarter.
The final will be played on Saturday 8 October – the day of the First:Utility Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford – at the Manchester Regional Arena.
