Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen has scored another win in professional boxing, after defeating former NRL player Anthony Watts in the first bound of their bout on Wednesday night.
Watts – who is a former teammate of Gallen’s at Cronulla – has played in the NRL for a number of clubs, but has established a reputation as a ‘bad boy’ of the game.
And when the two locked horns in the boxing ring on Wedensday, it took Gallen less than 90 seconds to defeat his fellow Rugby League compatriot. Gallen scored a win via technical knockout, after Watts had suffered a dislocated shoulder in the opening round of the fight.
It takes Gallen’s professional record to 2-0, after a win against Herman Ene Purcell on his fight debut back in February of this year.
