Salford waiting for Tommy Lee to decide on his future

Salford are waiting for Tommy Lee to make a decision on his future after offering their captain a new contract.

The injured hooker is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to speak to other clubs as he decides on his future at Salford.

Watson has already seen Josh Griffin turn down a contract with the club in order to sign for Hull FC and is keen for the 28-year-old sign a new deal with the club.

“We’re still in negotiations with Tommy,” Watson told TotalRL.

“We’ve offered him a contract now and we’ll wait for Tommy to get back to us on that, but obviously his first thought at the moment is to get him fit.”

Lee has previously been linked with a move to Leigh Centurions but would likely interest clubs already in Super League.

Salford fans wanting the latest recruitment update and a significant update on Lee’s current injury should buy League Express now, available in stores or online by clicking here.
