Scott Moore’s season over after freak accident

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats will be without hooker Scott Moore for the rest of the season after a freak accident brought his campaign to an end.

Moore only signed for the Wildcats on loan last month and played only two games under Brian Smith, but he will now not feature again this season after suffering an arm injury after colliding with someone in training.

Moore, who is due to return to Castleford at the end of the year, is the fifth Wakefield player to suffer a season-ending injury.

“Someone bumped into him with the elbow and it ruptured his bicep,” Wakefield coach Brian Smith said. “He will be out for three months or so with that.”

Smith also backed winger Richard Owen to make a comeback from the horrific double leg fracture he suffered against Bradford last weekend, saying: “It’s with the same surgeon and he’s very confident in that man,” Smith said. “The support for him has been overwhelming and I’ve a feeling he’s got a great chance of coming back and doing it all over again.”
