Semi-final win stands us in good stead, says Sio

Hull KR winger Ken Sio believes that their shock semi-final victory against Warrington last weekend will stand them in great stead for the beginning of The Qualifiers this weekend.

The Rovers take on Championship league leaders Leigh in the opening game of the ‘middle eight’, with the Wembley final against Leeds just three weeks away and fast approaching on the horizon.

But Sio believes the upset at Headingley last weekend will give them momentum ahead of their quest to stay in Super League, and admits that whilst they will need to put Wembley to the back of their mind, they can be confident ahead of the next few weeks.

“That victory over Warrington should put us in good stead for the next few weeks,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“There’s a few teams in The Qualifiers riding on a wave of confidence but I guess as we go on, we’ll start to gel more together as a team.

“Wembley will probably be still in the back of our minds but we’ve got to concentrate on Leigh now, and not to be relegated from Super League. We’ve got to keep going for these next three weeks until the final comes around.”
