Hull FC and Huddersfield lose key players ahead of Thursday

Hull FC will be without Gareth Ellis, Jamie Shaul and Liam Watts for Thursday night’s visit to Huddersfield.

The Airlie Birds trio have all been ruled out through injury after playing in the club’s Challenge Cup victory over Catalans last week.

It is understood that all three players are carrying minor injuries and will be available for next week’s visit of Leeds.

Dean Hadley, Curtis Naughton and Jansin Turgut replace the outgoing trio after playing for the club’s Under 23 side last weekend.

As for Huddersfield, they have also lost three key performers, with Scott Grix and Joe Wardle dropping out through injury while Danny Brough misses out after picking up a one-game suspension for a high tackle on Reece Lyne during the Giants’ defeat to Wakefield last week.

The young trio of Kruise Leeming, Darnell McIntosh and Sam Wood replace the outgoing three.

Meanwhile, Sam Rapira remains in the Huddersfield squad despite being taken from the field during last week’s defeat with a shoulder injury.
