Toronto target Leeds prop Brad Singleton

Leeds forward Brad Singleton has emerged as an ambitious target for newly-promoted Toronto Wolfpack.

The Ireland international remains under contract with the Rhinos in 2020, but with Toronto intent on strengthening their pack ahead of their maiden season in Super League, Singleton has interested the Canadian club.

Any deal would mean a reunion with former Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott.

Singleton produced arguably the best rugby of his career under McDermott, playing a pivotal role in the club’s 2015 treble triumph while the current Wolfpack boss was in charge at Headingley.

He made 23 league appearances for the Rhinos in 2019, but the vast majority of those came from the bench.

The Rhinos are in the midst of an off-season that could see significant changes to their playing squad.

Luke Gale has already arrived in a six-figure deal from Castleford, while speculation persists about the future of captain Trent Merrin.

And with Toronto eyeing up some experienced, big-name acquisitions to ensure they transition to life in the top-flight as seamlessly as possible, Singleton’s name would appear to be an obvious target.
