Wigan Warriors fullback Sam Tomkins says he’s being “realistic” about his impending return to first-team action this weekend – saying it’ll be a few weeks before he finds his best form.
Tomkins makes his return after almost nine months out on Friday when the Warriors take on Hull FC in a huge top-of-the-table clash.
Wigan coach Shaun Wane confirmed on Tuesday that Tomkins will play some part in the game – although he could start from the bench – and when asked about what he’s expecting from himself in the match, Tomkins attempted to play it cool: as you can see in the video below.
“I’m being realistic; it’s going to take a few weeks to get back into the full groove of it after such a lengthy period. I’m going to add something to the team,” he said.
“As much as I’d love to be, I’m probably not going to be flying on Friday.”
