Wakefield close to securing NRL forward

Chris Chester has confirmed that Wakefield will sign an NRL forward in the next ten days.

The Wildcats head coach revealed in the May 16th edition of League Express that the club was in negotiations to recruit a player for the remainder of 2016, while also confirming talks had commenced with a number of players about 2017.

But speaking at the club’s press conference today, the Wildcats chief confirmed the club would announce the signing imminently as they look to secure their place in the Super 8s.

Chester’s revelation will have tongues wagging, although the identity of the forward has yet to be confirmed.

Wakefield are currently sixth in Super League, four points off the top four following an incredible start to Chester’s tenure at the club.
