Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has said that the club will not accept the Early Guilty Plea available to captain Sean O’Loughlin: saying it is “more than likely” they will attend Red Hall tonight and fight the charge.
O’Loughlin was hit with a Grade C charge after being sent off during Friday’s narrow win against Wakefield, and could be banned for between two and three games if found guilty.
O’Loughlin’s previous record gives him the option of the EGP however, but Wane told the media on Tuesday that they could head to Leeds and contest the charge.
“There’s lots of mitigating factors in that,” he said about the charge.
“I’m going to speak to Rads (Kris Radlinski) later – but it’s more than likely we’ll make an appearance at Red Hall tonight.
“Lockers’ reputation and his past record is second to none and he’s been looked at favourably in the past.”
