Wigan Warriors moved to the top of Super League following an 18-13 victory over Huddersfield.
Jamie Ellis’s drop goal looked to have handed Paul Anderson’s injury-ravaged side an unlikely win, however Josh Charnley’s score gave the visitors a valuable victory.
Huddersfield put in a valiant display and will perhaps feel unfortunate to not have won the game, but even in defeat the Giants can take plenty from this display.
They held a half-time lead following Jermaine McGillvary’s converted try, however Liam Farrell and Dom Manfredi both scored after the break to put the Giants in command. But Jamie Foster scored on his debut to put the Giants level, with Ellis’ drop goal putting Huddersfield ahead.
However, Charnley then got in on the action.
