  1. We, Trinity, always lose at Cas. Last season they belted us, Cas were focussed, determined, aggressive and stuck to their task, their forwards dominated. Trinity on the other hand had fallen in love with themselves and thought they were going on a Sunday School outing. We were quite simply handed our backsides. The same will happen on Sunday if Trinity players and coaching staff are not prepared to go to battle. We showed against Toulouse in Round 1 that we have the ability to be out enthused, full credit to Toulouse who were excellent that day. We should in our second half performances against Hull, Warrington and York in SL and Leeds in the Cup that we can tough things out and fight. It will take an 80 minute performance on Sunday to beat Cas on Sunday, my head says we are capable of winning my heart says Cas as normal will win.
  2. At Trinity Harvey Smith, Oli Pratt and Jayden Myers really impressed in the first team. Neil Tchamambe, Noah High and Ellis Lingard are all highly regarded and continued their development with loan spells at Goole and Batley. Myles Lawford has been really unlucky with a serious ACL injury that wiped out 2025, again highly regarded and will be on loan at Halifax in 2026, he deserves some luck and lets hope he has a belting season at Halifax. Names mentioned from our academy who showed up well in 2025 included Rowan Stephenson, Cain Staveley-Carr, Noah Kershaw and Robbie Brook, hopefully Trinity fans get to see these boys in our pre season matches. Love it when young lads get a chance and make coaches have to make some tough choices. Harvey Smith, Oil Pratt and Jayden Myers certainly proved themselves when they got the chance in 2025. Noah High, Ellis Lingard and Cain Staveley- Carr should if gossip is to be believed get first team opportunities in 2026 . Then of course we have signed 18 year old Kian McGann from Saints who played in the highly regarded Saints Academy and Reserves and also Lancashire Origin rep team so it will be great to see him get a chance
  3. Not sure how it works but I presume that the court hearing the winding up petition must have been very impressed with evidence provided that funding was in place, I imagine that the ` owners ` don't just rock up to court and ask the judge to accept their word that the money is on its way and that they will pay off all debt, surely at this stage of proceedings the evidence provided to the court that the money is on its way must be very compelling. Would be interesting to hear from anyone with experience in these matters
  4. Letting players go when then still have a bit of Rugby in them is good management
  5. Any accountants out there who can educate me, if it turns out that the fans who bought shares are legally the owners would they be responsible for any debt and if the company / business does go into administration / liquidation would they still be responsible for the debt if creditors prove that the owners traded whilst insolvent.
  6. Very close call, Trinity looked jaded at Hull, McMeeken who has had a tremendous season was not himself at Hull, left edge of Pratt and Johnstone still missing. Huddersfield were getting bodies back and looking OK but picked up a few knocks last weekend. Powell has made a few strange calls when he has had more than 17 fit players - Oli Russell on bench coming on to replace Hood at 9 wasn't great, playing Scott on the wing was terrible , Hood, Smith and Doyle all in the 17 not ideal. Think this goes to golden point
  7. Think Wakefield's missing injured pack Atoni, Rodwell, Ulele, Storton, Doyle and Nikotemo plus backs out injured in Trueman, Ollie Russell and Matty Russell probably makes Warrington slight favourites. Warrington have their fair share missing and come of the back of a bruising cup semi final. The strength in depth of both squads is impressive.
  8. Wakey have put together a competitive squad , but 10 or so injuries is too much to cope with, Leeds by 30
  9. This is an excellent explanation, Dboy and others who are very quick with vitriolic abuse of Salford should have a little more empathy
  10. TRL home page reports that Bradford have terminated Kevin Appos contract . He has been charged with rape and sexual assault and bailed to appear at Magistrates court on 6th Jan . The article highlights that the charges relate to an Adult Protection Team report made in April 2024 . Appo signed a new 2 year deal with Bradford in August 2024. Is it reasonable to presume that Bradford and the players agent where unaware of the report / situation from April to August. If Bradford were made aware one would imagine fans and sponsors may have questions regarding the clubs recruitment and retention procedures.
  11. As a Wakefield fan I am embarrassed by the vitriol spouted on this thread by dboy. Trinity fans know how it feels to support a club lurching from one financial issue to another, to support a club that year after year defies the odds. I admire the tenacity of Salford. I know the many Trinity fans I speak with wish Salford well, without Matt Ellis we would not have a club. To revel in and gloat at Salford`s predicament is low and shows a total lack of sportsmanship.
  12. Not sure that a Toulouse win would be an upset, they stuffed Trinity in France and gave them a scare at Belle Vue. They must have played well to beat Bradford last week, Wakey certainly didn't play well against York, this was mostly due to an excellent performance from York. Wakefield`s 50% completion rate in the first half will have given the coaching staff cause for concern. Its a big game, I imagine the bookies may just give Toulouse a 2 or 4 point start simply to cover any home advantage.
  13. What about the £ 900,000 Covid Loan, The £ 200,000 RL loan and the £ 3.5 million loan from council for the purchase of the ground. How the pre Ellis regime thought they were going to start repaying that lot I have no idea. Dont think the club would have survived until Christmas 2023 with Ellis
  14. When Trinity have visited Odsal this season there were hoots of laughter when the crowd figure was announced as it was nonsense. One would hope that with crown figures having some significance re IMG gradings that that Bradfords obvious inability to count accurately would be investigated.
