STATEMENT OF INTENT

We are pleased to announce that MIKE MORRISON , RITCHIE HAWKYARD and DARREN HAWKYARD have all agreed to sign renewed contracts with the Lions for 2015.

The BOD and Coaches are absolutely delighted that these three key players have bought in to the renewed vision that we have for the club. We are already planning in detail for next season and we intend to announce further re-signings soon.

We hope to have all 3 lads on Salford Radio this coming Saturday.

A full statement will appear later on the club web-site!

Best wishes, the BOD

Featherstone venue change

07 July 2014 - 05:58 PM

This Sunday's match will take place at Sedgley Park. An official statement will follow shortly on the web-site.

Blackpool Summer Bash

05 July 2014 - 08:02 PM

The Championship will have its own "Magic Weekend" next season with a full round of 6 fixtures to be played over 2 days at Blackpool in May. These matches will be in addition to the 22 game league fixture list.

There will also be a Championship 1 knock-out cup in 2015, featuring the 14 clubs of C1 plus 2 amateur clubs. I understand that the final will likely be played at Blackpool as part of the "Bash" weekend.

Swinton & Pendlebury Heritage

23 May 2014 - 06:43 AM

I'm putting together a timeline of historic events that have happened in S&P (since 1866) for a couple of important projects. I'd welcome any suggestions please. Opening and closing of landmark buildings, historic events, anything affecting the TOWN (not the rugby club).

E.g. 1885 Clifton Hall Colliery explosion; 1887 Railway stations opened; 1934 East Lancs Road opened; 1938 Town Hall built; 1969 Swinton precinct opened; 1974 Local Govt reorganisation. Etc etc.

Please let me have your suggestions. Much appreciated.

Whitehaven

18 May 2014 - 07:04 PM

Gutted. Penalty count was horrendous in last 30 mins. From 18-6 up we lost ball on kick off and never seemed to regain a solid foothold. Haven got away with a ridiculous forward pass in their own 25 with 3 mins left on 6th tackle which might have given us a last chance to snatch it back. We tackled very well, but the lack of possession in 2nd half eventually took its toll.
