  1. Based on what the new owner is saying and has shown he’s willing to spend, quite probably!
  2. I don’t know what that means? Wakefield have obviously proved themselves credible to McMeekin and they must have shared some as yet unknown info with him to make him confident in the club. Maybe some other signings, new stadia development, state of the art training facilities and truck loads of realistic ambition. They have also probably shared their calculations re IMG but will have reiterated that they won’t be regaining Superleague status on that alone and will be going all out to win the Championship Play Offs, top the Championship League table and win the 1895 Cup!
  3. Wow! Statement of intent or what! Quite a few to follow by all accounts
  4. Terrible news, he was a big powerful athlete and made a great Rugby League centre. its shocking to hear that he’s died so young RIP
  5. As Preposterous says, maybe the design of the new West Stand will change with the advent of the new terraced grill bar at the South end of the Stadium but Matt Ellis will definitely build a new West Stand
  6. I think it’s important to note that these drawings are full of genuine intention to build exactly what’s on them and aren’t some fanciful hypothetical imaginings like some in the past! These WILL get built and in quick time too!
  7. Let’s be straight here, Cas have traded for years on the often described ‘amazing atmosphere at Wheldon Road’ and the fact that just across the Common Belle Vue was much worse than their ground. It’s allowed them to slip through almost unnoticed while the stadium increasingly deteriorated around them. The redevelopment of Trinity’s stadium and the introduction of IMGs grading have stripped away the protections while their fall down the league table has also removed another justification for remaining in SL. Im not ignoring their plight in terms of securing new stadium funding, they’re suffering just the same way that Wakefield did with poor timing, a crashed economy, changed shopping habits and dodgy developers. They have however sat on their hands a little safe in the knowledge that they were competing for play offs and cup comps so we’re safe in SL while knowing if a team was for the chop due to poor facilities, Trinity would fall before them. Not the case now so they’re panicking and doing botch jobs
  8. So don’t read them then! it’s not rocket science is it and you don’t have to take part in the discussion
  9. It’s a rule but it’s pedantic to the extreme to disallow a try for it when he played no part in the move whatsoever. What happened to referees discretion because that sort of nonsense does the game no favours at all
  10. Is same as, or has anyone shown form or emerged from nowhere to claim a spot? Welsby Young Farnworth Wardle Johnstone Williams Smith Walmsley Clarke McMeekin Whitehead Pearce Paul Smithies Lewis Radley T Burgess Havard
  11. Wakefield/Yorkshire/England/UK/Northern Hemisphere
  12. I think the Swinton game a bit as what the championship is all about and many who haven’t watched it for long or played in it don’t quite understand. Nobody goes anywhere and lays down
