I have been a rugby league fan for almost eighty years and in the late 1940s I played with Ray French at Knowsley Road (Knowsley Road school playground that is). I have been a rugby league fan ever since and in 1969, having worked for most of my life as an electrical draughtsman, I started to write a novel set in South Lancashire and based on many of my experiences in life and inspired by the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller" My first employer was British Insulated Callender's Cables, at Prescot. BICC also stood for "The Biggest Individual Collection of Comedians" It is all gone now but still fondly remember by many.
I have now written six novels on that theme with four still in print and on sale from London League Publications. Visit www.geofflee.net for more information..
I now live in Grange over Sands, hardly a rugby league hot spot but as I am now 85 years of age and rarely go out, much of my time is spent reading and writing about our great game.
