  1. The RFL grant testimonials, and it's more about years playing the game, rather than service for an individual club. Once granted, Fev will have agreed to host the match, and profits should've gone to the player.
  2. Hanley's carries when we're coming away from our line make a massive difference to us imo. Makes metres and gives some momentum, which then give space later in the set. Something Briscoe really struggled with. His next big test will be when teams target him under high balls. One slight worry is whether Lam and Moylan both want to do the same job, from second receiver. Then if they get that working, how does it then work when Asiata is back fit as in round 1 it looked like too many people trying to be in charge at times. As good as Leigh were though, Hull were dreadful and can see Fev posing a bigger test next week, particularly with Dwyer unlkely to be available for the cup (or again, if Walker is missing for Wire).
  3. Hull squad seems to look stronger than they previously have had, at least if squad numbers are anything to go by. Leigh apparently waiting till last minute before making a call on Amone and Lam. If Leigh from the first half last week can turn up for 80 minutes they should win. If Leigh from the second half turn up, then Hull win easily.
  4. Nice bit of recycling from Mr Shaw there, bringing back the interview Beaumont did in January, to get some more clicks off the back of an X post after last week's game.
  5. Disappointed to see Leigh seemingly become another club to not announce their attendance last week. Despite having what looked like a healthy crowd in again.
  6. But what were the overall goals?
  7. Super League sides should be joining an open draw in the last 32. But even then, the likelihood of an upset means there’ll probably be the same number of all SL ties across the competition, so the odds of avoiding the scenario of a repeat fixture over a couple of weeks wouldn’t change that much
  8. What is the governance structure that we have now? Is Super League Europe still a thing, or was that ruined by the attempt to take over and subsequent realignment? If it's an RFL call on how to distribute their central funds, then that might be a factor, given Catalans aren't RFL members.
  9. Isn’t Gledhill the source of this info?
  10. Don't think anyone would be happy to see the game lose a club. Doesn't mean that people have to be happy to see a club that has defaulted on numerous payments to the local authority, i.e. public money, bring in hundreds of thousands of pounds in share schemes and player sales etc, and not pay any of those defaults back. Instead, going out to sign McDonald, Cust, Shorrocks, Nofoaluma and so on. When payments are missed, there is always a knock on effect. If I was part of the council, I'd be wanting to talk about those payments before cheap rent and distribution of beer profits.
  11. That might be possible, but a fair few years off yet. United still haven't decided what they want to do yet.
