  1. I don't think there'll be 20 in it....16-28. We need to get in front like we did at Whitehaven and dictate. I believe we're missing Gledders for 2 weeks starting this week.
  2. I didn't realise the official timekeeper was responsible for his own equipment, apologies to the club but NOT to the guy getting paid to do the job. A situation like we had on Sunday could have led to to a very awkward passage of play. What would happen if the horn isn't heard as Sunday and the kick hadn't been fielded and York had touched down? Clearly the ref hadn't heard it as he had pointed for a drop out so where did he get the call from? The touch-judge nearest clearly didn't hear it or didn't let the ref know immediately.
  3. We also need to sort out the airhorn, out wasn't very discernable at the end of either half.
  4. Concerning to see Whitey in some discomfort yesterday, consecutive appearance record on the line maybe? Bit (lot) unfair to point out 1 man I think, more than 1 clocked off yesterday especially midfield when York's 13 strolled in by the posts. Burton IMO doesn't let us down at all and is a young man who needs to play and get support. If people had done the basics (YET ANOTHER KICK OFF #### UP) for example then we mightn't have been under the defensive pressure we were well before the accused entered the witness box.
  5. Leak, was Leaky all the time he was on, put some big lads on their derrieres, schemed throughout and pinched his usual try. Kibula, a more complete player now, led the forwards very well, was the only one today who ran with any purpose and handles the ball well. Butterworth, solid all day, ran the ball in strongly, his try was tremendous, a long way to go round the 2 players who were favourites to knock him down but he skinned 'em.
  6. We really have to up our game when we're in front. 22-0 and York hadn't seriously worried us. Then we clocked off, we let them run at us with open ball-carrying arms yet stood back and let one man try to do all the work. Again we failed to deal effectively with kicks, Morton carries dead, 3 men looked at a bouncing ball which they had to frantically claim....we seem a bit scared of daring to win just like Fev match. Happy with Samy back, led the line well, looked more aggressive and ifvgexdrays any length of time someone needs to learn to be with him for the offloads.
  7. The car to which I alluded a few weeks past is back in the building....or the car park!! I take us by 10.
  8. Ours will be not bad after giving Trinity a decent run out. Get the pack on top, bit of good old Batley tackling and we'll edge it.
  9. No Roger, full dress rehearsal for our show, tried my damnest to get out of it.
  10. Just gone back over Trin's league record; of their away games we're the highest scorers against them and the 2nd best in points difference in a game in any of their games and 1 of onky 2 whk stopoed them posting 40+ poknts. The hope seemed to be to keep 'em to 20, we did that and a bit more by the sounds. Kick on time.
  11. Look where Joe Burton played for Hunslet; top scorer at centre....if Mitsias isn't fit why bring him 11,000 miles? Are we paying him a contract to get him fit for somebody else ie fit enough to be sent to Cas A on DR!!
  12. 78-9 yes AND the 0-0 early 60's!
  13. So we've proudly brought a bloke with pace more than 11,000 miles to send him to pkay elsewhere? Clever that!! Great way to keep him interested here for another season, really smart...whilst we play a class centre on the wing.
  14. There were around 70 of us I'd say, looking at folk in the bar after.
  15. BBC Cumbria team was right beside us in the stand. Pre-game Mokko was worrying about 'Haven's big pack and there Aussie players....their pack did nothing, our 4 lads battered 'em. Only Singleton made a solitary break, the rest golded like a concertina, it was a proper Batley pack performance.
