Off-field Issues: Winding-up petition/Chairman/CEO/finances
RobLambert replied to Rarefrith's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Just a thought but... there seems to be a lot of talk of us owing around 125k to hmrc and and a similar amount in unpaid wages. It seems sad that we we could go out of business for £250,000. So for the short term is it not beyond the realms of possibilty that we could raise that amount of money ? I wouldn't expect anything whatsoever from the 'RL community' despite a handful of well-wishers on here. Even though I am seriously starting to think... whats the point in carrying on - and considering what I'm going to do instead on a Sunday afternoon....I would still give say £250 to stop us going out of business. Do we really not have 1,000 supporters that would do the same ? -

Last time I went to Cas (it was a while back but still in SL era) they had outside toilets that looked like they were from Victorian times. Dont know if thats changed but they seem to have upped their img rating markedly by doing very little to the ground, apart from bolting a few seats down, yet the improvements mentioned above have done nothing for our rating. -

So much conflicting information on here in search of finding out who the hell is to blame. Everyone seems to know something or someone who knows something. I can categorically state that I know nothing at all whatsoever. But for what its worth - from an 'outsiders' point of view...... Apparently Paddy put a lot of money into the club. Really ? If he is such a good businessman did he not look at the accounts before doing that ? Putting it another way - what an idiot he must have been to allegedly throw money into the club when it was overspending. Again looking at it from a simplistic point of view when he took over we were competing. Now he's gone we're nearer to extinction than at any point in my lifetime. The only other notable thing he oversaw was the demolition of Tuuta's bar - I mean ffs I wonder how much income we've lost from that ? Especially with it being located in p*ss heads corner (no offence - I've been standing there since being a kid) Still we should be thankful I mean his construction / masonry business nous must have helped with the demolition......lol. -
IMG Gradings & Bradford to Super League
RobLambert replied to Max_Power's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Got to laugh at that. How far back are we going there ? The key word you've used is NOW let it go. We are talking a couple of years back. Plus, since the olden days you speak of, we have also won the league on 3 consecutive league titles under Daryl P for nowt. So just let us be bitter can't you ? - remembering all the times we've been sh*t on from a great height - until we go out of existence. Then with the few hours I'll get back on weekends I'll spend my time laughing at other clubs misfortunes. -

I've also been thinking that the way things are heading there will be no room for the semi professional game. Train wreck coming. -

Incredible how so many people still don't believe that. -

Now there's an image I can't get out of my head.......... -
Have you not heard the rumblings this season that SL teams are fed up with the Catalans experiment and that it may well be drawing to a close ? Whether or not that happens is another matter but bringing another French team in would would surprise me. I'm not sure why you think it would be unfair on Toulouse ? Why ? Have they just won the league by 10 pts or something ? Fairly sure it'll be London and York and if there are 3 going up it'll be A.N.Other non deserving bunch - probably Bradford.

Ah the halcyon days of Fulham. Not sure what you mean. Promoted then gone and forgotten forever. Yeah big success. As far as your strategy goes - what about 2023 ? Got a winning team - tick. Got promoted - tick. The rest is history. This forum never ceases to amaze me.

Why in God's name as a Rovers fan do you hope for that miracle ?

What ??????? Does that mean you don't know ?

Well in a long line of terrible / unfair / immoral / poorly thought out decisions by the RFL regarding who they decide plays in the SL (or whether or not there is indeed a way into SL) the idea of a panel sitting (the chair of which may as well never have watched the sport before) really takes the biscuit - and this off the back of the IMG b####cks. Allegedly the decision as to who gets promoted will be made after the end of the play-offs but I'm guessing that this will have no bearing on who gets the nod - which has probably already been decided. However wouldn't it be just lovely for the RFL if everything fell into place and the winners / finalists / league winners were amongst their pre-determined picks. You know - just so they don't look a bit silly. Irrespective of whether we've put our hat in the ring. Like I said though you believe what you want. -

If Cookey is trying to confuse Salford I would suggest that it may have been a more intelligent idea to put an unfit half back in the 21 (Turner) rather than name 7 backs - three of which are unlikely / unable to play. Then again he thinks that Olpherts plays ahead of Wynne so who knows whats in his head -

Will you just be done with it and stop watching the club. You've been threatening it for years and I suspect most most of us couldn't give a flying when and if you jack it in and watch roller skating instead.
