I entirely disagree with you. Could be an excellent back rower preferably 13 in a team that wants a 13 to play with some flair. He is quicker than the average back and has plenty of skills that would translate to RL. Highly doubt it’s anything more than agent talk to push up his price with the assistance of some agreeable journalists but it would be a very interesting signing. Would definitely join the marmite club of being loved by home fans but hated by rivals just as much as Mikey Lewis and Jake Connor.

As long as he is coming over with the right attitude then someone with such vast high level experience and leadership should be a big asset to help develop the next generation of spine players. That is likely to be more important than any on field impact in 2027.

Something I am very surprised hasn’t yet been brought up is the major cost of living crisis in the UK making a trek down to London for a day out/weekend trip more and more out of reach for so many people especially families who could go for a week at a holiday park for the same expenses.

One of the great all round figures of rugby league in the modern era. Equally loved as a coach, commentator and pundit with his deep love for the game shining through along with his knowledge and nous at man management as well. I can’t comment on his playing career as that was well before my time but it’s testament to all his talents that he carved out a career doing many varied roles for over 50 years.

It just seems bizarre to insist on awarding a penalty in a situation where they don’t need it as they already managed to take the advantage anyway by making the drop goal. The penalty should be a fallback option in the event of the drop kick missing and not automatically enforced.
