St Helens head coach has claimed Jonny Lomax’s career is lucky to be still going, as the aftermatch of Brett Ferres’ spear tackle on the full-back continues.
Lomax is expected to be fit for St Helens’ massive trip to Castleford on Friday night, after Brown confirmed he had suffered no ill-effects after the tackle, which saw Ferres cop a five-match ban. And Brown believes both Lomax and Ferres have got off lightly following the incident.
“I think we’re all fortunate. Jonny’s lucky his career is not over and Brett is with the charge he got,” he told the St Helens Star.
“He’s not a dirty player and the implication is he cost his side in the cup but more importantly Jonny’s lucky.”
