Dixon, who played for England Knights in 2013, had already rebuffed an offer from the Broncos for the Championship. The 21-year-old made his debut for London in 2012 and has scored 37 tries in more than 50 appearances for the club.

He will join a new-look Hull KR backline that will include Newcastle Knights winger Josh Mantellato, Parramatta Eels threequarter Ken Sio and Wigan centre Darrell Goulding.

Dixon returned to the Broncos’ team on Sunday for his first game of the season, scoring a try in the Broncos’ shock 40-36 defeat of Leeds Rhinos.

London head coach Joey Grima said the club had wanted Dixon to stay.

“We made an offer to him that was 50 per cent more than what we had offered our highest-paid player,” said Grima.

“We offered a very considerable amount, but he signed with Hull KR. His intention was to play Super League.

“He’s a very, very ambitious person. He is incredibly gifted and he came on the scene so explosively. Given his level of excitement, I think he was a target for a number of Super League clubs. We would have loved to keep him, because he would have scored 35 tries in that competition.”
