Greg Eden admits Brisbane training is “tough”

Former Hull KR and Castleford full-back Greg Eden admits he is struggling to get to grips with the intense Brisbane heat, as he begins pre-season training as an NRL player for the first time.

Eden has signed for the Broncos for the 2015 season after opting to leave Super League to try his arm in the NRL, and began training with the club earlier this week. And he admitted that although he’ll be fine in the long run, it’s been a tough baptism of fire in the baking Queensland heat.

“There’s nothing near to this back in Castleford, it’s way hotter than any of our summer days,” he said. “So to be running in this heat, I’m struggling a bit. It’s going to be good in the long run but for the moment it’s quite tough.”

“It feels like the air’s a lot thicker so when you’re trying to get your breath back, you’re just struggling to get it down and you get this burning feeling in your throat which is not good.”

“At least it’s not going to get any worse and it can only get easier, so I’m just going to keep with it.”
