Smith wants to spoil Leeds’ start

Warrington Wolves head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith admits he would like to be early season party poopers and end Leeds Rhinos’ 100 percent start to the season.

The Wolves go into tomorrow night’s game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on the back of an end-to-end 32-24 win over Hull KR on Sunday, while Leeds put in a great second half performance against Hull FC to run out 43-12 winners

“It’s been a short turnaround for us but Friday’s is a game that we are looking forward to,” Smith told the club website.

“It’s a big challenge. Leeds had the classic game of two halves last week and that gave us the chance to see both sides to the Rhinos and the dangers they can bring.

“It meant that they also kept their unbeaten start to the season and it will nice if we can help them break that record.”
