Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash insists that he has no problem with the video that has emerged of fullback Kevin Locke dancing topless on the streets of Barcelona – apart from the fact he may need to lose some weight!
Locke took to social media to defend his actions earlier this week, and his boss has insisted that he had no issues with Locke’s actions, even attempting to see the funny side of the whole thing.
“The video showed he has some fat around the belly that he needs to lose. Other than that, I have no issue with it,” he told PA Sport.
“What concerned me was that I didn’t want him to risk further injury to his groin but it demonstrated that there is nothing wrong with him. Mentally and physically, he looks in a good place.”
Koukash also insisted that he has full faith that Locke will be able to deliver after a difficult start to life in Super League following his move from New Zealand Warriors last year.
“He now needs to knuckle down and show what he can do. We invested a large amount of money in Kevin and we still have faith in him to reproduce his NRL form.
“If he does that, he is one of the best players in the competition. It is all down to him now.
“I promised the fans a world-class player and I need him to start delivering.”
