Easter will show where we are, says Harris

Salford Red Devils coach Iestyn Harris admits that the Easter period will be the sternest test of his side, and will show where they are in terms of any top four credentials they may have.

The Devils moved up to fourth after a 36-8 win against Widnes on Thursday night – but their next three games over the traditionally tough period see them lock horns with Huddersfield, Wigan and Leeds before a Challenge Cup showdown against Leigh Centurions.

And although Harris revealed his delight at the club’s lofty position on the league table, he admitted that the next few weeks will indicate exactly where the team are.

He said: “It’s early days but you’d rather be fourth than 12th. We’ve got a lot of work to do, and there are some tough challenges around the corner.

“But to be sat in fourth is really pleasing given the games we’ve had.

“We’ve all seen that anyone can beat anyone, and over the Easter period you’ve got to try pick up some results. These three games will show where we are as a team, and hopefully we can build on what we’ve done so far this season.”
