Could Sam Tomkins be heading home?

New Zealand Warriors fullback Sam Tomkins is being linked with a sensational early return to Super League, reports Down Under are suggesting.

Tomkins, who signed a three-year deal with the Warriors last year when he headed to the NRL, has been mooted with a return home due to suggestions in the Australian media.

With the Warriors reportedly interested in the services of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck for 2016, it has ignited speculation once again that Tomkins will return home to England and Super League.

Reports suggest Tomkins is homesick, and with Wigan Warriors likely to part ways with current fullback Matty Bowen at the end of this season, it only further fuels the talk of a return to England.

Wigan would likely be the front-runners to sign Tomkins should he become available, especially with the return of brother Joel to the club from rugby union last year.
