Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have secured the signing of Ben Kavanagh on loan until the end of the season.
The 27 year old has joined the Wildcats from Super League rivals Widnes Vikings, after making six appearances this season – one of them against Wakefield back in March.
The Scottish international arrived at the Select Security Stadium on loan from Wigan in 2008, before the deal was made permanent after a successful stint with the Vikings.
Wildcats coach James Webster is a former teammate of Kavanagh’s, and he admitted he’s delighted to bolster an area in which the Wildcats have lacked depth in recent week.
“I was lucky enough to have played with Ben at Widnes when he was just starting out his career,” he said.
“Ben will add some size and speed to an area we have been short in over the past six weeks. I would like to thank Dennis Betts, James Rule and Steve O’Connor for allowing Ben to join us for the year.”
