Wigan could lose Gelling for up to two months

Wigan Warriors have suffered a major injury blow, after it was revealed in-form centre Anthony Gelling could miss up to two months of action.

Gelling has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks after tearing a hamstring in two places following a recent victory against Wakefield.

Gelling pulled up injured after breaking the line during the latter stages of Wigan’s 40-22 win against the Wildcats last Thursday.

The Cook Islands international had played in every game for Wigan so far this season, scoring seven tries and registering seven assists during an impressive start to 2015.

Wigan could ask Joel Tomkins to deputise at centre in the absence of Gelling, starting with this Friday’s game against Hull Kingston Rovers.
