St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham insists the team owe themselves a “complete” performance against Wakefield this Friday.
The Saints have been inconsistent by their own high standards in recent weeks, and are four points adrift of Leeds at the top of Super League despite winning at home to Widnes last week.
But, as they prepare to face bottom side Wakefield this weekend, Cunningham says that they are seeking a total performance – whilst also admitting he’s wary of the Wildcats.
“We’re looking for a complete performance. We weren’t that far away against Widnes but we looked tired. When we put our foot down we looked a different class to the opposition,” he told the club’s official website.
“Wakefield can certainly play and were outstanding at the beginning of the season with a full squad. They have lost players but they are starting to come back.
“We owe ourselves a complete performance. If we come with the wrong attitude then it is going to be a hell of a game for us.”
