Leigh starting to crack, believes Sheffield’s Mark Aston

Sheffield Eagles coach Mark Aston believes the race to get promoted into Super League between Leigh and Bradford is incredible close after witnessing the Bulls first hand last weekend.

Sheffield were beaten 46-12 at Odsal by a rampant Bradford side – and Aston says although Leigh are just in front of the Bulls at the moment, that may not be the case come later in the year.

In fact, Aston said you could “put your house” on Bradford getting back into Super League come the end of the season.

I think Bradford played the best they have all season,” he said after their defeat to the Bulls on Sunday.

“Having seen that it would certainly be very close between Bradford and Leigh, because Leigh are starting to crack.

“Bradford are going this way and Leigh another. At the moment, Leigh are probably a tad in front of them.

“But, by the end of the season, who will get promoted? I think you would probably put your house on it being Bradford.

“It is interesting because Bradford are hitting form at the right time.
